The Hebei Province Pilot Launching Ceremony of the National Digital Dairy Information Service Cloud Platform was held in Shijiazhuang On March 26.


The leaders of the Municipal Animal Husbandry Bureau, representatives of farms and dairy enterprises attended the launching ceremony, which was hosted by Xie Zhong, the Deputy Director of the Animal Husbandry Department of Hebei Provincial Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Bureau. In 2016, the Animal Husbandry Department of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs started cooperation with Goke to build and operate a big data platform project – “National Digital Dairy Information Service Cloud Platform”. Using the Internet of Things technology to link milk stations, the main purpose of the project is to establish the information flow among the dairy farms (farmers), milk stations, transport vehicles, dairy processing enterprises, and integrate all of the information into a unified platform to achieve automatic information collection, analysis and feedback. This promotes the dynamic integration of information, technical and financial services, and builds a national dairy big data platform. Wei Lin, Deputy Director of the Dairy Industry Division, the Animal Husbandry Department of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, detailed this at the pilot launching ceremony.

Gu Chuanxue, Deputy Director of the Hebei Provincial Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Bureau, said at the launching ceremony: “The National Digital Dairy Information Service Cloud Platform can effectively collect, summarize and analyze the information management data of each dairy farm and check it at any time. Hebei Digital Dairy Information Service Platform follows the guideline of “overall planning, step-by-step implementation, pilot project first and promotion later”. Before the end of 2018, the deployment of three representative pilot projects in the province will be completed to realize the collection and integration of dairy data information. And then the model will be copied and promoted in other cities. Finally, the whole Hebei Province will be covered by the end of 2020, achieving the dairy data collection and integration of the whole province. The overall construction period is 3 years.”

In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of Document No. 1 of the Central Committee, comprehensively carry out the programmatic documents of the State Council on accelerating the revitalization of the dairy industry, promote the application of dairy Internet of Things technology and intelligent technical facilities, and innovate and integrate practical technologies such as measuring the performance of dairy cows, building the intelligent farm is extremely urgent.

Hebei Province ranks third in China with 1.246 million dairy cows and 4.654 million tons of dairy products. The average yield of dairy cows is 7.3 tons. There are 1,070 dairy farms in the province, including 948 large-scale farms, 122 dairy farms after transformation and upgrading, and the dairy farms with more than 300 cows account for 98% of the total in the province. The proportion of information management software has reached more than 40%. At present, it has fully established the good foundation and conditions for promotion of informatization and intelligence. Hebei Province plays a key role as a pilot province of the national dairy cloud platform.

Through the establishment of the “National Digital Dairy Information Service Cloud Platform”, the dairy farms can achieve the functions of dynamic management of cattle structure, TMR precision feeding monitoring, automatic statistics of milking data in dairy parlors, automatic collection of farm environmental data, and raw milk purchase and transport process control, providing data support for farm operations management.

Moreover, through the dairy cloud platform, we can access dairy cattle populations, raw milk production, sales, prices, and indicators and other data in real-time, which provides enterprises and consumers with multi-dimensional services, better ensuring the efficient production, quality and safety of fresh milk in the Hebei Province.

The data collected by this platform is mainly based on sensor acquisition, reducing human intervention and increasing accuracy of data, thereby providing an adequate basis for the government’s decision-making.

The digital dairy platform will be connected with the national fresh milk purchasing stations, the transport vehicle management system, the monitoring system of raw milk purchasing, and the direct connection and reporting platform of the scale farms to realize the geographical dynamic information of national dairy farms, milk stations, dairy enterprises and transport vehicles, all displayed in “one map”. During the conference, the leaders and experts visited the pilot project of National Digital Dairy Information Service Cloud Platform –“Xinle City Pengyuan Dairy Farming Community”. Wang Wei, Vice President of Goke, introduced in detail the application and effect of digital dairy information service in dairy farming production.





The on-site visit mainly showed:

1         TMR Precision Feeding Monitoring System:

It records and monitors the ingredients, feeding and leftovers of the cows’ TMR mixes in real-time, achieving precise management of the whole feeding, controlling the feeding error, and ensuring that the feed formula is highly consistent with the nutritional value and effect the cows were prescribed.

2           Intelligent Monitoring System of Milking Parlor:

The milking management and monitoring is enhanced and the efficiency is improved through automatic identification, weighting and sorting. At the same time, by accurately collecting the milk production of each cow, the system can timely find and treat abnormal cattle, providing a reliable basis for cattle grouping, feed formula and cattle elimination, providing effective data for cattle production performance measurement and breeding.

3           Cow Estrus Health Monitoring System:

The cows’ estrus will be automatically detected by the system. The system will automatically monitor the cows’ estrus 24 hourly, with a estrus detection rate of over 90%, which increases the yield and economic benefits of raw milk.

4           Farm Environmental Monitoring and Control System:

The system can automatically monitor and control the external and farming environment. It will help the dairy farm to respond to heat stress and cold stress in a timely and effective manner.

In the future, the digital dairy platform will gradually expand the scope of the pilot, improving the intelligence of data collection, and the functional structure of each module of the platform, and gradually open up the ministerial and provincial industry management information systems to build the China Dairy Big Data Center. At the same time, based on the big data platform, taking the raw milk contract management as entry point to explore and establish a new benefit distribution mechanism in dairy industry chain, and explore a new dairy income insurance based on the cost-benefit data of raw milk, aiming at improving the efficiency of the production process to promote advanced and applicable IOT technology, accelerate the integration of supervision and monitoring, and enhance the competitive power of the national dairy industry.
